Scar

The clubhouse is full even though it’s the middle of the week, but that’s probably because more of the men have been staying on the compound lately. I didn’t have a formal reason for coming back to the clubhouse, most of the correspondence that we have about the ASG is done over the phone, but after Finley told us that her father knows about us, I thought it might be worth having a conversation with him in person. He had made some comments that made it seem like he knew something, but he hadn’t said anything outright, now that he has I think maybe we should talk.

“Scar, you seem to be lonely,” Haley slides another beer my way, I wasn’t planning on having another one, so I ignore it at first.

“I’m not.” The beer is open so I might as well drink it, but I will leave it where it is until she walks away. She doesn’t take my tone with my words though and pushes forward with whatever stupid thought she had when she came over here.

“I only meant that Pyro and Bell are usually with you, why are you sitting at the bar alone?”

“Pyro and Bell are out on an assignment for the club,” I start to walk away but I get the idea that she would just follow me and I don’t have anywhere else to be right now.

“In that case, would you like some company for the night? You have been away a lot lately, I’m sure you could use a… release.” I have never been so sick and tired of one woman’s inability to take no as an answer.

You would have thought that after her best friend got kicked out, she should stop being such a fucking nuisance. There are plenty of men in this club that give her attention, she can’t be that damn desperate for mine.

Sleeping with club hang-arounds used to be enough and give me a sense of satisfaction but it was never Haley. She might be a favorite of most of the brothers, but I have always found her to be more annoying than it is worth. Even before Finley, I couldn’t stand her, once I started hanging around Finley more and listening to her talk about her in a different light, I realized just how terrible she is.

She is kind of pretty, but she ain’t got nothing on Fin, and that fucking voice is terrible. Sometimes I wish that someone would kick her ass and make her leave but she is the type of person that would hang around anyways and it might make her voice worse if her nose has been broken.

“No.” It’s short and gruff and has no emotion but the fall of her face shows she got the damn point, for now.

Tough claps me on the shoulder and takes the stool next to me, “I heard you were back. How’s the city been treating you,” I slide the second beer that Haley brought me over to him and turn around, leaning back onto the bar.
